WHO IS IT FOR?

The full year program offered by Smith Horsemanship is designed for passionate individuals who want to start/enhance their horsemanship skills. The training academy covers foundational to advanced methods for training horses, ensuring a safe and trusting partnership. The program includes practical and theoretical tests, and students train multiple horses to establish a strong foundation for their own horsemanship journey. Our courses are friendly, relaxed and inspirational perfect for younger pupils who just finished school/gap-year enthusiasts etc.

13 January 2025 - 13 November 2025

Cost:

R22,997 per month (includes self catering accommodation).

Academy Description:

This academy covers ground work and riding levels 1 - 4. It aims to enhance students' understanding of horses, improve training skills, and strengthen the bond between horse and rider. Students will also experience advanced training scenarios, including working with wild or untrained horses. Hands-on horse experiences are essential.

Students can bring their own horse for an extra R4000 per month. Stallions are not allowed.

Upon successful completion of the full-year program, students are eligible to receive a 50% discount on the creation of their own professionally produced marketing video to enhance their career at the special rate of R5000.

Certified students will receive a free listing on the Smith Horsemanship website for potential training gigs and clinics.

TRAINED HORSES

Upon completion of the program, every horse you bring to the academy will significantly increase in value, as will the horses you engage with in the future.
